Directions: 1.
If you can get to the ring before it penetrates, buff it with toothpaste on a soft cloth to remove the mark.
2.
If this doesn't work, cover the ring with petroleum jelly and leave it there overnight. Then rub jelly off and buff.
3.
If the ring is too deep to be helped by the above, make a paste of rottenstone powder and linseed oil. Rub it in with the grain of the wood until the ring disappears.
4.
As a last resort, remove the wax finish and re-wax with fresh polish.
