Ingredients: 1
c
(2 sticks ) butter,
Softened 1/2
c
Sugar 1
t
Lemon or almond extract 2 1/2
c
Unsifted all-purpose flour
Confectioners' sugar glaze
Directions:
Cream sugar and butter together until fluffy. Add extract. Mix in
flour. Shape in smooth ball. Cover and chill.(May store up to a week
in refrigerator.) Preheat oven 300 degrees. Pinch off about 1/6 of
dough at a time. Flatten and roll out on a floured surface to 1/4
inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie
sheet. Bake 15-20 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool. Decorate with
glaze.
Glaze: 1 cup confectioners's sugar 2 - 3 tablespoons milk 1/4 teaspoon
extract of your choice
Mix all ingredients together and brush over cooled cookies.
