c
Brown sugar 1/2
c
Lard 1
t
Salt 1
t
Cinnamon 1
t
Ginger 1
c
Table molasses 1/2
c
Water 1
tb
Baking soda 4
c
Flour
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream the sugar and lard and stir in the
seasonings. Add the molasses. Dissolve the soda in the water and
stir into the batter. Add the flour gradually until the dough is
stiff enough to roll out. Roll dough 1/4" thick on a floured board
and cut into shapes. Bake 6 to 8 minutes. For a soft cookie
underbake slightly.
