Quaker Yuletide Toffee Squares

Ingredients: 4 1/2
c
Quaker Old Fashioned Oats,
Uncooked 1
c
Brown Sugar, Firmly Packed 3/4
c
Butter, melted 1/2
c
Corn Syrup 1
tb
Vanilla 1/2
ts
Salt (optional) 2
c
Semi-sweet chocolate morsels 2/3
Nuts, chopped (optional)
Directions:
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease 15 x 10 jelly roll pan. Comine oats,
brown sugar, butter, corn syrup,, vanilla & salt - mix well. Firmly
press mixture into prepared pan. Bake aout 18 minutes or until
mixture is brown & bubbly. Remove from oven. Immediately sprinkle
morsels evenly over toffee. Let stand 10 minutes. Spread chocolate
evenly over toffee. Sprinkle with nuts. Cool completely - cut into
squares. Store tightly covered in cool dry place.
