Peachy Ozark Cobbler

Directions: 1.
Combine cake flour and salt. Cut in lard till mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually pour in water; blend to form pastry dough. Divide into 2 portions of 1/3 and 2/3.

On waxed paper, pat or roll larger portion of pastry into a 12 x 12-inch square. Fit into bottom and up sides of a 2-qt square baking dish. Trim pastry.

Toss peaches with 3/4 cup sugar, flour and 1/4 tsp nutmeg; spoon into dish. Dot with 3 Tbs butter or margarine.

Roll remaining pastry into a 9 x 7-inch rectangle. Cut into 1-inch wide strips. Arrange pastry strips over peaches; trim to fit dish. Brush with melted butter or margarine. Sprinkle with some sugar and nutmeg.

Bake in a 375 F oven for 55 to 60 mins or till pastry browns. Pour Ozark Dip over servings. Makes 8 to 10 servings.

OZARK DIP: Mix 1 cup milk, 1 tsp sugar and dash ground nutmeg.
