Oatmeal Crispie Cookies

Ingredients:
1  cup  shortening
1  cup  brown sugar
1  cup  white sugar
2    eggs
1  teaspoon  vanilla
1 1/2  cups  flour
1  teaspoon  salt
1  teaspoon  soda
3  cups  oatmeal
1  cup  coconut
1/2  cup  chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Form into balls and press down with fork. Then bake.
