Directions:
Dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Combine the milk, granulated
sugar, salt, and butter in a saucepan, heating gently until sugar
dissolves and butter is melted. Remove saucepan from heat and cool
slightly. Stir in yeast and eggs. Transfer to a large bowl, and
gradually add flour, stirring constantly.
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth. Butter or
grease a large bowl and place the dough into it, turning once. Cover and
let rise until volume doubles.
Punch dough down and divide in two, spreading 1/2 in each of two baking
dishes (11x7x2 inches). Brush surfaces with a little butter, let rise
until doubled.
Preheat oven to 375F (190C). Make holes in dough by poking with finger
or thumb.
Melt the 1/2 cup butter with the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour over
the dough, filling the indentations. Bake 25 minutes
