Lazy Day Cobbler

Author/Submitted by: Submitted by Randy Rigg
Servings: 8
Categories: Cherries / Cobblers / Desserts

Ingredients:
1  stick  Margarine
1  cup  Sugar
1  cup  Flour
3/4  cup  Milnot
1 1/2  teaspoons  Baking powder
1/4  teaspoon  Salt
1  can  Cherries, unsweetened
1/2  cup  Sugar

Directions:
Place margarine in a deep dish, or 8 x 8 inch pan in the oven to melt. Beat together sugar, flour, milk, baking powder and salt, to a smooth batter. Pour over melted butter, do not stir. Empty cherries and include the juice over batter and sprinle with 1/2 cup of sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

About Milnot: This is easier to find in Great Britain than in the United States. Substitutes: evaporated milk (This doesn't whip as well as milnot. To compensate for this, make sure the milk, beaters, and bowl are all very cold before whipping.) For more info, go to http://www.milnot.com.
