Shortening,
melted

Nut meats,
chopped
-----TOPPING----- 3/4

Brown sugar 2
tablespoons
Cocoa 1 3/4

-Hot water
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cocoa. Add milk, vanilla and shortening; mix until smooth. Add nut meats. Pour into greased 8-inch square cake pan. Mix brown sugar and cocoa; sprinkle over batter. Pour hot water over entire batter. Bake. Temperature--350 F.
Time--45 minutes. Amount--6 to 8 servings.
