Boiled Chocolate Cookies

Cocoa 1 1/2

Sugar 1/4

Salt 1/2
c
Milk 1/4
c
Karo 1/4
c
Margarine 1
t
Vanilla 2
c
Quick oats 1
c
Coconut, optional 1/2
c
Peanut butter, optional
Directions:
Mix cocoa, sugar, salt, milk, karo and margarine in sauce pan and
bring to a boil. Boil until mixture reaches soft ball stage when
dropped in water. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and oats.
Optional ingredients may be added at this point. Drop mixture by
spoonfuls on waxed paper or greased cookie sheet. Allow to set until
firm.NOTE: 1 cup milk and 2 cup sugar may be substituted for the
cocoa, sugar and milk listed above.
