Brown sugar, dark, packed 2

Walnuts, black, (english 1 1/4

Directions:
Confectioners sugar, sifted 3 c Swans' Down (cake flour) 1/4
t Salt 1 1/2 c English Walnuts, chopped
Melt shortening and cool. Add eggs to sugar and beat. Add
shortening and blend. Sift flour, salt and baking powder and add to
the shortening, sugar and egg mixture. Mix well. Add nuts and
vanilla and blend. Form into rolls and wrap in wax paper to chill
over night. Rolls should be about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Slice
1/8" thick and bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
