 Angostura Bitters Ice Cream

Ingredients: 3 
                                   
                                  Eggs 1/2 
                                  c 
                                  Sugar 2 
                                  c 
                                  Milk 2 
                                  c 
                                  Heavy cream 2 
                                  tb 
                                  Angostura bitters 
Directions: 
 Whisk egg and add sugar gradually. In saucepan, mix milk and cream,
 and heat to boiling point. Whisk a bit of the hot liquid into the
 egg mixture and then add to saucepan. Whisk constantly until mixture
 thickens slightly, about 5 minutes, but do not allow to boil. If
 there are lumps, strain. Cool to room temperature and stir in the
 bitters. If using an ice cream maker follow manufacturers directions.
 For freezer method, pour mixture into shallow trays and freeze until
 half frozen. Transfer to bowl and whish until creamy, return to
 freezer. Freeze until firm.
