Ingredients:
-----Oatmeal Mixture----- 1 1/3
Cups
Boiling Water 1
Cup
Quick Oats 1/2
Cup
Shortening 1
Cup
Brown Sugar 1
Cup
White Sugar 2
Eggs,
well beaten
1 1/3
Cups
Flour 2
Tsp
Salt 1
Tsp
Soda
-----Topping----- 6
Tablesp
Butter 1/4
Cup
Evaporated Milk 1
Cup
Nuts 1
Cup
Brown Sugar 1
Tsp
Vanilla 1
Cup
Coconut
Directions:
Combine boiling water and oats and then let stand for 2 minutes.
Cream shortening, brown sugar and white sugar.
Add remaining ingredients.
Mix and then pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 in. pan.
Bake: 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
Place under broiler until browned.
Stir together and spread on cake.
