Great Cookie Beginnings

Author/Submitted by:
Servings: 4
Categories: Cookies / Desserts

Ingredients:
3/4  cup  butter, softened
1  cup  sugar
2    eggs
1  teaspoon  vanilla
2 1/2  cups  all-purpose flour
1  teaspoon  baking powder
1  teaspoon  salt

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar until blended. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add remaining ingredients and mix. Chill at least 1 hour. May be cut, dropped, rolled or shaped. Bake for 12-15 minutes until cookie edges start to brown. NOTES: Let your budding chefs run wild deciding what to add to the batter, what color and what shape to make their cookies. As long as you keep the batches small, not much is lost in the learning process. The dough keeps a long time in the refrigerator. Just pop it in a plastic bag to store.
