* Grow plants that insectivorous bugs like. Grow a patch of dill, caraway or fennel. You can also plant things that vegetarian insects don't like. Aphids like almost anything that grows. But they don't like marigolds, so plant marigolds and the aphids will leave.
2.
* In the vegetable garden, a few marigolds can be extremely attractive.
3.
* Killing pests safely: Put 2-3 drops liquid dish soap in water; spray on to kill aphids.
4.
* Flat beer to kill slugs-- put rim of pie plate at ground level.
